Puglia, Italy

Neos opened New York to Bari in June 2025, and Italy widened its 7 percent pensioner tax regime in March 2026.

The heel of Italy, all whitewashed towns and olive groves running to the Adriatic, Puglia has been popular with British and northern European buyers restoring trulli and masserie for twenty years. For Americans it was always a connection away, until Neos began flying New York JFK to Bari.

Neos introduced New York JFK to Bari service in June 2025, expanding Puglia's transatlantic access.

Policy followed access. Law 34/2026 raised the eligible municipality population ceiling for Italy's 7 percent foreign-pensioner regime from 20,000 to 30,000. Other eligibility conditions still apply, and buying a home alone is not enough. The G7 met at Borgo Egnazia in 2024, and Vista Ostuni opened in a restored palazzo in 2025.

The diligence burden is building conformity. Building and cadastral conformity, and any regularization status, require property-specific checks, and an advertisement is not proof of lawful condition.
